Brutal Kangaroo

WikiLeaks Today, June 22nd 2017, WikiLeaks publishes documents from the Brutal Kangaroo project of the CIA. Brutal Kangaroo is a tool suite for Microsoft Windows that targets closed networks by air gap jumping using thumbdrives. Brutal Kangaroo components create a custom covert network within the target closed network and providing functionality for executing surveys, directory listings, and arbitrary executables. The documents describe how a CIA operation can infiltrate a closed network (or a single air-gapped computer) within an organization or enterprise without direct access . It first infects a Internet-connected computer within the organization (referred to as "primary host") and installs the BrutalKangaroo malware on it. When a user is using the primary host and inserts a USB stick into it, the thumbdrive itself is infected with a separate malware. If this thumbdrive is used to copy data between the closed network and the LAN/WAN, the user wil

Alexis Tsipras essentially admits that the Greek experiment is not over

globinfo freexchange A tired and disappointed prime minister spoke yesterday to the members of his cabinet about the latest developments after the recent eurogroup (another one), concerning the Greek debt issue. The Greek PM, Alexis Tsipras, was restricted on usual generalities, without giving a specific schedule about what Greece's creditors have promised to do about Greece's debt relief. The explanation is simple: they gave him nothing. Despite the usual rhetoric containing cliches like growth, jobs, investments, fight against corruption and bureaucracy, sometimes, at some point, even politicians reveal directly or indirectly, deliberately or not, some of the real picture behind the curtain. So, it would be useful to focus on a couple of points that may give us some of the real picture. The first one comes right in the beginning of his speech, where Tsipras essentially admitted that after the latest developments we should not expect the end of t

Exploitation of children in propaganda war against Syria continues

Part 1 In December 2016, filmmakers in Egypt were arrested in the process of staging an Aleppo video with two children: the girl was meant to look injured, and the boy was to vilify both Russia and Syria. Even the corporate media reported on it, including: “ The girl’s dress, covered in red paint, was what caught the attention of a police officer driving by, the ministry said. ” The incidences of fakery and hoaxes, however, does not end there. Also in December, the scene of a ‘Girl running to survive after her family had been killed’ was said to be in Aleppo. In reality, it was a scene from a Lebanese music video, which someone at some point clearly chose to depict as in Aleppo, for the same anti-Russian, anti-Assad vilification purposes. In November 2014, a clip dubbed ‘Syrian hero boy’ went viral, viewed over 5 million times already by mid-November. The clip showed what appeared to be a little boy saving his sister from sniper gunfire, and was assumed to

How Greece became a guinea pig for a cashless and controlled society

As Greece moves closer to becoming a cashless society, it is clear that the country’s attitude towards cash is reckless and dangerous. The supposed convenience of switching to a cash-free system comes with a great deal of risk, including needless overreach by the state. by Michael Nevradakis Part 1 Day by day, we’re moving towards a brave new world where every transaction is tracked, every purchase is recorded, the habits and preferences of everyone noted and analyzed. What I am describing is the “cashless society,” where plastic and electronic money are king, while banknotes and coins are abolished. “ Progress” is, after all, deemed to be a great thing. In a recent discussion, I observed on an online message board regarding gentrification in my former neighborhood of residence in Queens, New York, the closure of yet another longtime local business was met by one user with a virtual shrug: “ Who needs stores when you have Amazon? ” This last quote is, of
